Supernatural, HD video, 6:50 min. 2019
I was driving down the Coquihalla Highway one summer somewhere in the 1980s when I saw a flashing sign in the distance. The Coquihalla is the longest straightest highway in Western Canada. In the winter it’s one of the most treacherous mountain roadways in the world. In the summer it’s a hypnotic 4-lane 4000 foot straight path decent into the Fraser Valley. It was afternoon and the sky was clear. The flashing yellow sign took forever to arrive. As it came into full view and passed overhead it read: “BC, It’s Supernatural.”
